Who We Are
The Logan County Republican Central Committee is the official Republican Party organization for Logan County, Illinois. We have been organized and filing with the Illinois State Board of Elections since 1974.
Our purpose, in the words of our own registration with the State Board of Elections, is "to support candidates of the Republican Party for all offices of Logan County and the State of Illinois."
In practice that means the unglamorous work that keeps a party alive between elections: holding meetings, recruiting candidates and precinct committeepersons, staffing a booth at the county fair, putting up signs, answering questions about the ballot, and making sure no Republican in Logan County has to wonder where to turn.

How the Committee Works
An Illinois county central committee is made up of precinct committeepersons, one elected from each precinct in the county. Those committeepersons elect the county chairman and set the direction of the local party.
That structure is why precinct committeepersons matter so much. They are not honorary titles. They are the people who actually make up the party, and when precincts sit vacant, the county party is quieter than it should be.

A county party runs on small contributions from neighbors. Every dollar given here is spent right here in Logan County.
